Rabbits

Rabbits are well known for their reproductive habits however, only 15% of the babies survive the first year. They have a plant based diet and do not eat meat, typically eating between dusk and dawn as the low light allows them to hide from predators.

These rodents are very crafty and quick and can rotate their eyes 360 degrees. This allows them to look behind them without turning their head! They can cause havoc to your yard and garden chewing off and eating expensive plants and damaging landscaping. They often make nests under decks, sheds, porches and buildings during baby season. Rabbit droppings can infect pets with heartworm.

Opossums

Opossums are nocturnal animals and they are North America’s only marsupial. Because of their good grooming habits they eat up to 5,000 ticks per day! Their low body temperature makes them immune to many diseases such as rabies. They can help your yard and garden by eating insects, snails, small rodents and snakes.

Opossums may hiss, growl or bite if cornered but they are actually very harmless. More than likely, they will faint in shock at the prospect of such a confrontation. Playing dead is an involuntary response on the part of the opossum. The stress of the confrontation causes him to go into shock inducing a comatose state that can last from 40 minutes to four hours. While “dead,” the opossum’s body is limp, it’s front feet form into balls and drool runs out of its mouth. It may even appear that rigor mortis has begun.

The opossum’s guise of death goes so far as to produce a smell of decay. From his anal glands, the opossum’s body emits green mucus that will discourage most predators from feeding on him while he’s in his comatose state. They often take up residence under decks, sheds, porches and buildings or move into attics or inside homes. They may look frightening and may steal garbage or pet food or even harass pets but they provide a lot of good services too!

Moles

Moles are not nocturnal and most spend their entire life underground made possible by their unique Hemoglobin that allows them to recycle oxygen. They have a six fingered paw with two thumbs that is perfect for digging dirt. These rodents have poor eyesight and are often blind however, have excellent hearing and very fast reflexes.

They will not eat your plants or bulbs as they’re carnivores but can however damage lawns and gardens as soil from burrowing can smother grass and disrupt lawn irrigation systems. They may kill small plants by shifting the soil beneath them and expose roots of trees and shrubs with all their tunnels. These rodents are solitary animals, and it is likely that only one or two are responsible for the damage to your lawn or garden!

Bats Removal

We always try to find the most humane and least stressful method to remove and exclude bats from your home or business. Bats are a protected species; therefore, we are able to offer our services in May before the bats have babies or in September before they hibernate. Our wildlife removal specialists will close off the entry point(s) and install a temporary one-way door/tunnel to let the bats leave and will not allow them to re-enter. Bats will usually leave within 1-3 days because they are hungry and thirsty, but we will leave the one-way door in place for 10-14 days to be certain. When we return to remove our temporary one-way door, our wildlife removal specialists will ensure the area is secure. We warranty all of our prevention work, including entry points, vents and any problem areas we have treated. It is also recommended that you install a bat house nearby to give the bats an alternate home, so they stay out of yours!

Bats

A common misconception is that bats carry disease and are very unclean, but bats are actually very helpful in controlling the population of crop destroying insects.

Bats are divided into two types: megabats and microbats. Mega bats include flying foxes and fruit bats. They tend to be larger than Microbats however, some Microbats are larger than Megabats. Bats are nocturnal and can fly up to 31 miles to find food. They eat half its body weight per day. Feasting on flowers, insects, fruits, nectar, pollen and leaves.

Bats are the only mammals that can fly and the only mammal known to feed on blood. Bats make up 1/5th of the earth's mammal population. Bats begin hibernating when the cold weather drives the insects away, typically around October and November, and emerge from hibernation in March.
